The Friends of Banham Zoo is a charitable Association that was formed in 1996 to promote the breeding, care and conservation of wildlife at Banham Zoo and to support conservation organizations across the world.
The association aims to create public awareness of the importance of ensuring the survival of species and the diversity of life and donates vital funds to many animal based conservation projects around the world as well as funding new enclosure developments within Banham Zoo.
A few examples of worthy projects that FOBZ have financially supported include a new enclosure for the endangered Sri Lankan leopards at Banham Zoo and educational signage within the new Giraffe House. FOBZ regularly donate substantial funds to many external conservation projects including The Snow Leopard Trust, Cheetah Conservation Botswana and The Association for the Study & Conservation of Lemurs.
